  • Since everyone seems to be colouring their food these days this is my contribution: turmeric and smoked paprika pita breads. Nope, didn't fancy blue algae powder.
  • Of course, on our first day in Edinburgh I had to have vegan haggis! Served with kale, turnips, and a lovely tarragon whisky sauce.
  • Burger from Anna Loca, apparently the only vegan restaurant in Cardiff. The burger was all right, the chips too large and very bland. I am super happy looking at all the vegan options we had on this trip and I declare Scottish chips the best in the world. We ate at too many fast food joints though and I need some veggies as soon as I get home. With a side of Scottish Single Malt.
  • We came to Cardiff and found an amazing vegetarian Indian restaurant that had so many vegan options! I had a really hard time choosing. So hard that I even forgot the name of my dish. It was something with aubergine. I also ordered some delicious aloo paratha. If you're ever in Cardiff I'd highly recommend this place. It's not far from the main station.
  • Celebrating National Oatcake Day with @efcliz!
  • Had this massive and rich chocolate cake from @bakery47. (We also had one of their baguettes which looked impressive on the shelf but was rather burnt on the bottom and had a slightly underbaked crumb.) Very delicious but probably not the best idea after a fantastic serving of chili and nachos at @the78cafebar. Last day in Glasgow and I am so done eating for today.

  • Delicious lunch @harmoniumbar in Leith. I stepped very much out of my comfort zone and ordered a tofu fish burger with kick-ass fries. Also pictured: a fantastic oatmeal pale ale (From a can! Haven't done cans since I was a kid. They are considered a special kind of evil in Germany.) and a kid's plate that was completely veggie-free. Of course the kid was delighted. Thanks for the recommendation @eblknd!
  • Travel trip no. 1: When in UK buy all the English books! Found a wonderful bookstore yesterday (@goldenharebooks) where I bought the Zadie Smith and the Chibundu Onuzo one. I also brought the latest Ian Rankin with me from Germany because Edinburgh!
